While there is still new research coming about, one\narea that you may want to check are, of course, your gums and teeth. When\npeople think about dementia and Alzheimer&#8217;s, they don&#8217;t\u2019 think about the health\nof their teeth. The lack of efficacy is potentially due to current research\nlooking for links instead of causation. These proteins react with the amyloid beta proteins\nand toxic enzymes to form the amyloid plaques, and the insoluble plaque creates\ninflammation, destroying brain cells, which leads to Alzheimer&#8217;s symptoms. But\nhow does it get to the brain? Tooth loss is a result of\nperiodontal disease, which is where the connection is there.<\/p>\n<\/div><!-- \/wp:paragraph-->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph--><div class=\"gridContainer\">\n<p>At least one study has found that people with the least\nteeth are at the greatest risk for this. Periodontitis, or gum disease, causes\na ton of inflammation, and the scientists have linked this to inflammation of\nthe brain.&nbsp; This from there easily\ntravels to the brain and it builds there.
