When you’re choosing orthodontic treatment, you have a few options, with the two main ones being either Invisalign or traditional braces.  But, what’s so similar between these, and what is different? Read on to find out.

The first is the similarity.  Both of them literally do the exact same thing that the other does, which is where a bit of gentle pressure is pushed onto the teeth in order to manipulate this into the jaw’s new, desired position.  This is one of the most successful was to fix both bite and alignment issues.  But, both Invisalign and braces do it a bit differently. Ti’s the same thing, just a different type of treatment, and we’ll tell you below what it means for you who are using this.

Now the key difference is design.  Invisalign is very different from braces, and while there are different types, most people know what braces are, with the brackets, metal bands, and the like.  These are used to manipulate and put everything into a new position in a very slow process that’s gradual. You oftentimes once even notice your teeth are moving at times, and it takes about 1-2 years on average.

However, the design of this is different, where they use aligners to put them over the teeth. It may not look like they’re doing much, and it might seem like ti’s slow-going, but they actually are pushing onto your teeth in order to push them about, and it allows for a more discreet treatment option, and you don’t have to worry about messy aligners and the like when you’re doing this.

The difference is also the treatment program as well. For braces, you need to see your dentist a whole lot more in order to get them adjusted. Every 4-8 weeks you have to go in and see the dentist, depending on this.  With Invisalign, you just move from one aligner to the next in each stage series of the plan, and you will need to wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day before you continue, but you only need to check in every 6-12 weeks to show the progress.

It also is much easier for people to wear too.  With braces, you can’t eat as much, and you’re basically stuck with those ugly old boys till you’re done, and it will definitely be a damper on the way you eat things.  You won’t’ be able to have anything sticky, and you’ll also not be able to eat things that get stuck in the teth. With Invisalign, it’s a different game, so nobody will have to worry about food compromises or the like. It’s so much easier, and it makes everything all the better.

It’s easier, more comfortable, and better for you. Oftentimes, lots of people don’t’ even realize what’s going on when they get this, and they oftentimes will definitely like this option more than others.

Braces are commonplace for adults and teenagers. Did you know that there are medical benefits of braces that will surprise you?  Here, you’ll learn a little more about it.

First, it can help with an improved bite.  Braces are used to correct bites, which is how the teeth fit together. When you’ve got gaps in your bite from teeth missing or poorly aligned, ti can actually impact the ability to break down food, a part of digestion. Poorly aligned bites impact the ability to chew properly and even eating. If left untreated, it can result in TMJ, lockjaw, and a lot of headaches, all of which can be rectified with braces.

It also improves the alignment of the jaw, which can help with speech impediments.  Orthodontic treatment can impact the palate and jaw alignment that causes this. As a part of orthodontic treatment, expanders can be sued to widen this area before it’s applied. This can also help you with breathing, snoring, and potentially your sinus and ear issues that are a part of the misalignment of your jaw. A lot can change the way that you feel with just this addition to your body.

It also can improve your oral care habits.  When you have braces, they can handle the misaligned and crowded teeth, which are harder to clean. Parts of the tooth might be behind another tooth, and it can make brushing hard. But, by straightening teeth that are crowded, brushing, and flossing, you can naturally improve this.

Good oral care including brushing twice daily, using mouthwash, and flossing daily is good, and you can use this as well to prevent bad breath, gum disease, and the staining of teeth. However, extra care needs to be used to brush and floss between these brackets and wires, but with regular dental visits, it can create lifelong habits.

Finally, this can help with confidence. When you have a better smile, you’ll feel better about it, but if you’re awkward about it, you may miss out on valuable promotions and the like. When you’re no longer embarrassed by this, it helps to build natural confidence, and it improves your happiness, productivity, and it can help with both social anxiety, and ultimately better mental, and physical health.

So yes, this can do wonders for you mentally and physically and you can, with this as well, improve the overall wellness and happiness that comes with this. With the right ideas and the right care for your teeth, you’ll be happier too.

Braces are great because they can allow you to easily and without fail to create a better life for yourself, and make things much easier.  you’ll be able to have a much happier mindset, and you can, with this too, make it so that you’re able to do all of this, and you’ll be much better off with yourself. It can help with improving confidence, but also with helping you get a feel for what it is you need.

One challenge when you’re beginning any orthodontia is choosing what type of braces you want.  There are two different types, ceramic and metal braces, and each has different functionality and benefits.  You may wonder which one is best for you? The answer is really based on personal preferences, and what you want from your braces, and here, we’ll go over each.

Metal braces are usually brackets put on both the front and back of teeth, and they are gathered so that the teeth and the bite are in the correct place, and are straighter. Metal braces are made of stainless steel brackets and the wires are a type of a metal alloy, and they’re adjusted with the help of rubber bands that are attached to this.  Traditional braces use wires, brackets, and ligatures that are part of the main elements, but the self-ligating braces have clips versus the ligatures that hole the wires to the brackets. If your teen feels a little self-conscious with these, you will want to let them know that metal is pretty normal, and many of their peers sport similar grins. Ceramic, in contrast, have tooth-colored or cleared ligatures and brackets, and while they still have metal wires, they typically are not as obvious, and they both have ligatures that have wires that attach to each.

Metal and ceramic braces often put pressure on the teeth, but if you’re concerned about the appearance, the main difference is metal braces have the metal brackets, whereas the ceramic ones have brackets that blend in with your teeth, but they are attached to a metal wire, and that will be visible when smiling no matter what.

The best way to determine which one you should get is really just based on your dentist, and look at images with both metal and ceramic, and talk with the child which one they may prefer. They are both noticeable, but the ceramic ones are less noticeable, but if you want straightforward braces, you should get traditional.  Ceramic often can become stained and discolored over time, and they tend to last a bit longer treatment-wise since the ceramic brackets do create a friction against the wires. Metal is also cheaper, and treatment isn’t affected by this, but it often is way more noticeable, and that’s something that some kids aren’t totally cool with, and the best thing to do in that situation, is to choose which one is best for you.

The best thing to do when choosing braces, is to talk with your orthodontist about what works best for you, and choose one that will provide for you the smile that you want, and always make sure that you take the time necessary to take care of your teeth, so that when the braces come off, it looks better,r and your child will feel way better about this as well, and it can ultimately help with the overall result of the different aspects of this as well for you.

Braces are a super common option for people to straighten their teeth. They essentially put pressure on the teeth continually, shifting them into alignment.

Now, to prepare for these, always talk to your dentist so they can get you a good orthodontist that fits your needs. When you first meet the orthodontist, they’ll ask you questions about your oral health, and from there, perform clinical exams.  you’ll then get a series of x-rays that in turn will tell you what you need, and you’ll get a mold of your teeth too. At this point, they’ll know how to go forth with the treatment of that situation.

Typically, you’ll begin by having a thorough cleaning and drying of the teeth. you’ll then get an adhesive put on to attach the brackets. Once the brackets are on, you’ll then have an arch wire placed in through the brackets, and then elastic to push them in place. It takes about an hour or two, and while the procedure isn’t painful in it of itself, sometimes it does cause discomfort after, and usually, your tongue and cheek will rub against it, making it sensitive, and your teeth will initially feel very sore. It takes about a week to fully get used to them.

Now, when you get them, you should care for them so that you can get the best results. Daily brushing and flossing should be done, and you should get brushes that allow you to clean those areas that are hard to reach around the brackets and wires. Since brushing is difficult with braces, you’ll probably spend more than a couple minutes a day taking out the plaque and cleaning off the gumline.  When you floss, always use a waxed dental floss so it doesn’t get stuck between the teeth.

You will want to use a floss threader at first to get the floss to the right length, about 18 inches, and then push it through your teeth just under the wire of the bracket in a careful manner between each of the teeth. You will need to repeat the whole process and move to cleaner areas with a back and forth motion as you go along with each of the teeth.

Finally, you’re going to need to pay attention to the foods you consume. Foods high in sugar tend to cause an excess plaque buildup that will cause teeth damage, and sometimes eating caramels, gummy candies, nuts popcorn, and others can become lodged and damage the brackets, so don’t do that. Always visit the dentist and the orthodontist regularly when you do this since it will help with adjustments, and making it easier for you to take care of your teeth now, and in the future.  It does play a major role in the way your teeth are taken care of, so definitely consult the orthodontist in order to figure out what you need, and follow the regimen that they give you for the best results.

When you have braces, you need to focus on your oral hygiene.  Those brackets and rubber bands are the perfect locales for some debris and plaque, and it can cause cavities and so much worse if you’re not taking care of it properly.  It often is quite frustrating to do, but if you take care of it now, it actually can keep your teeth fully clean during treatment.  Here, you’ll learn how.

You should brush your braces and teeth depending n how many times you eat.  But, it should be at least three times each day. If you can’t do it after one meal, rinse and get the particles off of there. Yes, brackets make it harder, but if you do it three minutes a day, you can get around this, and make sure you do it lightly so the brackets don’t get damaged.

So what do you do with brushing and flossing? Well first, you want that extra soft toothbrush.  If you can get an electric one such as Sonicare, you’ll be even better off. Angle this, and move straight down, and then angle it up from the bottom. Lightly press it in circles. A water flosser can help if you have spaces hard to reach.

There is also an interproximal brush that’s great if you want to quickly clean and you don’t have time for brushing and flossing. It is tapered on one end to go under the wires to remove the plaque so it isn’t embedded on the teeth or around there, just use caution when you use it to not loosen the brackets.

For the toothpaste, always use one with fluoride, since it will help protect the teeth, and don’t use whitening since it can affect the shades of the teeth once you remove the braces.

Then there is floss. You should get one that’s flat, easy to thread, and you should consider getting dental flossers if you have issues. Superfloss is also good since it goes under the wires of the brackets. Once under, the spongy part keeps it around the brackets, and it also has regular floss to get the plaque from under the gumline too.

Then there are floss threaders, which allows you to floss easier. it’s like a sewing needle, and from there, you essentially floss under the brackets t get it in there, and it makes the chore of flossing much easier.

Finally, consider using a mouthwash to strengthen the teeth and enamel. Go with an alcohol-free mouthwash, since it does tend to dry out the teeth in many cases, and it can cause dry mouth which often leads to potential tooth decay in many cases. It does make a difference if you use it.

Braces aren’t fun. They take a lot of time out of the day to take care of, but if you’re ready to have a beautiful and straight smile, these tips will allow you to do it, and it will make upkeep easier.

Braces aren’t just for kids anymore. Adults are getting them too, and while they can help, you may wonder whether or not you should get one or the other.  This post will discuss whether braces are right for you, and how they can assist you.

Braces can help shift crooked teeth, and while you may have had them as a kid, doesn’t mean that they won’t shift away. They can correct teeth that shift and straighten up crooked teeth.  It also makes it easier to brush and floss, which in turn means less decay, and gums that are healthier. You can also manage jaw pain with these too, which is something you might need and can help with changing your teeth before you get a crown, bridge, or even an implant.

There are new options that you can get too, including ceramic brace that look less obvious than traditional ones, lingual brackets that face your teeth surface and your tongue rather than outside, and can hold them into a good position, or even plastic aligners that fit like guards over teeth and allow you to move it into a position.

How long you wear them really depends on what you need to fix, anywhere from 12 to 44 months. Adult teeth sometimes take a bit longer, but many times there isn’t a difference. You will need to brush and floss after every meal and during bedtime. You will need to learn how to floss newly because braces do get in the way, and while it’s annoying, it’s crucial to get plaque and food particles out.

You will need to usually after the braces come off, have to wear a retainer, which is plastic or metal that fits over the top of teeth, and you may just have to wear it when you sleep. It keeps the teeth from shifting all over the place.

Now in terms of cost, it depends on the issue at hand, and what you need to correct. Typically, it’s anywhere from 4-8000 dollars, and usually, more dental plans include orthotic treatment, and you can even get discounts if you can pay it upfront. If you can’t afford that, you can get installments that are monthly, or even other plans too if that works for you. Usually, the orthodontist will help you with this so that you’re happier with it.

When it comes to braces, it’s never wrong to consider getting them. They can ultimately help you with shifting teeth and help to keep them as straight as possible.  You can get them as an adult, and even though you may not like the way that they look, with new innovations and improvements that come from this, you’ll be able to bring forth new and amazing sorts of endeavors, and in turn, create some amazing results with your teeth. Braces are something that shouldn’t be shamed, but instead should be considered to help make your smile even better too.
