What Parents Need to Know About Permanent teeth

While a child might be missing their teeth, there are permanent teeth right around the corner. These are the ones that last the rest of our lives, and while you have them, you may not know what to expect to have happen next, so here, we’ll talk about permanent teeth!

Baby teeth start coming in when children are 6 months old, till they’re 3.  these baby teeth are replaced by permanent ones, and they can continue all through adulthood, and we are born with 20 teeth that are primary, and 32 adult teeth. The baby teeth are there to hold the jaw for more permanent ones to come in. with primary ones, you got 10 on top and 10 on the bottom, and adults have 16 on top and 16on bottom, respectfully.

Permanent teeth come in usually from the front bottom, front top, and then all the way back. The first teeth get loose, and come out, and are replaced by the more permanent one.  Usually, they come out normally, but sometimes they may be right behind the baby ones, or they may be damaged due to gum disease and other issues.  Usually, when children start school, they start to lose their teeth, and by 13 they have more of their permanent teeth, and this includes the incisors that are there, the teeth between the front and canines, four canine teeth, and, of course, the eight molars, and two of those come in without even replacing the baby teeth.

Wisdom teeth are the last to the party, and they’re called “third molars” that won’t even erupt, but most of the time, they do by the time the person is 21. the dentist will make recommendations about how to clean them, and whether or not they should be removed.

Now, for children, usually this involves the teeth falling out, and they tell you, and then the “tooth fairy” comes over and gives them a treat.  Over time, the child will notice more and more teeth coming in. occasionally, some are stubborn and don’t’ want to come out, which is why you have to go to the dentist to get them removed.  But, when they finally do get them all removed, the child will need to make sure that they take good care of their teeth, since over time if they don’t they’ll break down and degenerate.

As a parent, you should always make sure that you take your child to the dentist, especially when they first start to lose teeth. You owe it to yourself to do this, and from there, get the child the help that they need in order to make sure they have the perfect teeth for themselves, and ones that they will take care of. You can always see your dentist in order to get more help on how to effectively take care of the teeth, and some of the best ways to really improve your oral health as well.
